In November 2009 Hughie James together with Jenny Barford put into action a long held ambition of setting up a choir for anyone who wanted to sing regardless of age, previous experience or ability. Voices Aloud was formed as a mixed group of about 40 singers from all walks of life with ages ranging from 20 -75. A choir able to sing songs from the sixties to this present day. Voices Aloud has been very successful performing to sell out shows and winning many awards. In 2014 the choir was awarded BBC Choir Of The Day.
